ICT Consultancy and Support for Schools

Whether you need a new cost-effective broadband provider or you’re looking for a whole new solution, we are happy to provide advice on your IT requirements and deliver project management or remote ICT support for your school. Our PRINCE-2-qualified project managers can help to ensure that your ICT project is delivered on time and to budget. JSPC also provides insight into new developments and solutions which offer cost-effective solutions for schools and academies.

Our managed support service, coordinated through our central help desk based in West Sussex, is dedicated to fulfilling the everyday support needs of schools and operates during normal working hours. All communications are recorded and shared with our technical team who then arrange the relevant support. Incidents are logged on file for future reference and full records can be provided on request.

Our support services include the maintenance of:

  • Network infrastructure, servers, SIMS and related operating systems
  • Workstations, laptops, tablets and printers
  • Interactive whiteboards and projectors
  • Office 365, curriculum software, email and anti-virus software
  • Wireless and remote network connectivity

Our remote support and helpdesk function includes everything from network maintenance to an issue with a single device as well as support for software, systems including SIMS / FMS as well as email and printing issues. Our self-service portal allows you to log requests, add new users for email and more, putting you back in control with our expert remote support.

In partnership with Cisco Meraki, we can install reliable and high-performance WiFi for your school. Cisco Meraki is an award-winning Cloud managed WiFi solution that ensures complete coverage across the entire site. It means that WiFi would be available throughout the school to all computers and portable learning tools, including tablets and iPads.

The Cisco Meraki Cloud Controller provides powerful and intuitive management whilst eliminating the cost and complexity of traditional on-site wireless controllers. Cisco Meraki’s WiFi access point also allows schools to manage network users by deploying apps and restricting access.

We work closely with academies, schools and local authorities to ensure we can provide full support for school MIS including SIMS FMS. We work closely with SIMS software providers Capita to ensure we are aware of any developments and provide additional support to schools as required. We know that managing and securing staff and pupil information is vital and we provide all the support you need to make the most of SIMS FMS.

If you’re looking to make some cost savings, moving your infrastructure to the cloud could be an option. We understand the rigorous performance and security standards required of schools and academies and can provide advice on how to effectively deploy cloud-based solutions at your school.

We provide daily data backup to remote servers and online to ensure your school meets the requirements for both the Data Protection Act and the Schools Financial Value Standard (SFVS).

Redstor Backup Service for Schools (RBUSS) is the market leading off-site backup service, currently being used by more than 12,000 primary schools across the UK. This fully automated system replaces the need to perform manual backups, as well as the need to purchase hardware, software or tapes. This secure backup service stores two copies of your school data in geographically separate locations within the UK and remains safe and encrypted at all times. RBUSS is also accredited by Capita and provides the ability to backup SIMS and SIMS Discover.

Our comprehensive data backup solution means that if the school lose data or functionality due to a major issue such as hardware failure, network outage or extreme weather, we can help with a rapid response. We can restore lost data, provide replacement devices and even imaging services to ensure they are all set up exactly as they need to be so that you can keep the school running smoothly.

Whether you’re starting out on a major ICT implementation, or you just need a bit of support ensuring that your broadband gets installed on time, we can help. We’ve built great relationships with providers and our PRINCE-2 qualified project managers will ensure that your projects are delivered on time and to budget. Our team can also assist with initial project planning, including project scope and specifications.
