Charles Dickens Primary School is a thriving inner-city primary school in Southwark, London that has recently been rated as outstanding by Ofsted. The leadership team engaged with JSPC in order to modernise their IT infrastructure to a cost-effective solution that was delivering on all the school’s requirements and strategic goals for the future. One of the key requirements that all schools shares is reliability to ensure that there is no downtime during teaching hours and that effective cyber security is maintained. At the start of the relationship, the JSPC team upgraded all the machines across the school to Windows 10 for improved compatibility and security. In addition, JSPC also provided a faster internet connection and a new server to support the infrastructure and implemented a secure backup solution.
JSPC provided the infrastructure to put the school’s leadership in control of their IT while maintaining security. For example, an e-safety solution provided robust filtering to protect students and included immediate alerts for any areas of concern. The school also had autonomy over user accounts, with authorised members of the team able to allocate, administer and manage all user accounts from a secure portal. For more challenging issues, Charles Dickens School makes use of the JSPC remote helpdesk for a swift resolution within hours.
The professionalism of the JSPC team, increased efficiency of the solution and improved confidence in the IT infrastructure weren’t the only positive results. Improved reliability and initiatives which gave the school control over their IT meant that the required time for a technician to visit the school was reduced by 90% to just three hours a month and this delivered a comparable cost reduction. JSPC delivered a cost-effective, secure and reliable solution for our school that allows us to maintain our focus on delivering outstanding education.
